Charlotte Home Inspector Reveals High Moisture in Crawl Space

November 6th, 2010 · No Comments

Charlotte Home Inspector Preston Sandlin says high moisture in a crawl space is like cancer for house if not corrected.  High moisture over 20% causes wood decay and is conducive for mold and termites.  The moisture in the crawl space in this picture is over 26%.  You can tell their is high moisture in this crawl space because of the drooping insulation.  The moisture in the crawl space tries to evaporate but then gets caught up in the insulation and thus starts drooping down.  Chaeck your crawl space today for high moisture.  It should be below 20%.
