Charlotte home inspector Chip Spragues was inspecting a home in the Palisades subdivision of Charlotte NC when he noticed a problem with a plumbing vent stack.  Plumbing vent stacks are supposed to extend “6 beyond the rubber plumbing boot but this one did not.  In fact this plumbing vent stack didn’t extend beyond the plumbing boot at all and it was sussectable for water intrusion.  Make sure that all your vents extend “6 beyond the plumbing boot.
