Charlotte Home Inspector Finds a Bad Gutter

August 18th, 2011 · No Comments

While inspecting a home in the Overlook Mountain subdivision in Charlotte Nc Charlottte home inspector Preston Sandlin found a negative slope on the rear gutter.  The gutter should slop towards the downspout and not away from it.  It it flows away from it like the one in this picture the gutter will hold water and will start to pull away from the house.  The other thing that can happen is that the water can come over into facia and the soffit.  This is why it is some important to check your gutters to make sure they have apositive slope and they aren’t full of debris.
