Spend Less Funds By Setting Up Cree LR6 LED Down Lights

Most people don’t spend considerable time thinking about lighting and its connected energy costs at home or businesses, but that would shift immediately if they realized the benefits and gains provided by power efficient lighting found on the business today. Enter the LED downlight, the most effective LED lighting solutions offered and a prime example of how LED lighting is going to remodel the lighting market. While not all present LED replacement bulbs live up to their guarantees, products like the Cree LR6 Down light ensure that you get beautiful warm white light, an 85% power savings over common incandescent bulbs and a 50000 hour life span. That means it won’t require replacing for the next 20 years or more if ran for approximately 6-8 hours a day. If the cost per bulb averages $2 we’ll end up paying out an additional $600 for gross total total of $2550 to install six incandescent lights.

Now, what does the Cree LR6 charge to operate under similar circumstances? Incredibly, it operates on just 12 watts of power and employs 85% less energy than a 65-watt incandescent bulb. The power cost to light one LR6 for 50000 hours is just $60 on average. If we have now six downlights then our total energy cost brings a paltry $360, with the additional bonus of never needing to replace them. Presently the LR6 sells for around $90, so we’ll spend about $540 to fit them (they can be mounted as a direct replacement to regular downlights, no special tools needed) and our total price will be $900 over the 50000 hour period. That’s a tremendous savings of $1650 over using 65-watt incandescent bulbs!

Just in case you’re wondering how a LED downlight bulb is in contrast to a compact fluorescent bulb (CFL), the LED downlight is up to 50% more high efficiency than a CFL, and also doesn’t carry mercury, a harmful material that needs special disposal and cleanup if a CFL bulb should split. One last benefit of LED downlights is they create a much smaller amount of heat than conventional bulbs and will therefore help to reduce expenses associated with air conditioning.

The only concern left to ask is, “Where do I purchase LED downlights?” Online companies such as Green Supply concentrate on LED lighting solutions and can help you find the things you need for your home or business. Online general lighting retailers may stock LED lights but may not have the expertise or customer service to make sure you get what you need. Currently it is more difficult to find LED downlights at local retail stores and, when you do find them, the prices are usually greater than what you’ll find online. Hopefully I’ve laid out a clear way to understanding the price and environmental attributes of using LED lighting solutions such as the Cree LR6 Down light. The initial price of purchasing this and identical products is insignificant when put into perspective, and the huge benefits to your pocket and our environment will be clearly seen and felt.
