Charlotte Home Inspector Finds Clogged Condensation Line

February 13th, 2012 · No Comments

While inspecting a home for a real estate transaction in Matthews NC, Charlotte home inspector Preston Sandlin noticed quite a bit of rust in the catch pan underneathe the HVAC system in the attic above the second floor in the house. What happens here is that the normal line clogs up and then it overflows into the pan like you see in the picture apove. The pan should have a drain or a safty cut off.  The problem is that if the original back up is not cleared the pan will eventually rust out.
