Charlotte Home inspector Finds an Impropper Gate

April 17th, 2012 · No Comments

While performing a Charlotte NC home inspection, inspector Preston Sandlin came across an impropper gat as shown here in the picture.  This gate is around a swimming pool.  Gates have to have self latching gates with a spring that makes it shut automatically.  All fences around pools should be at least ‘4 high and should have self latching gates.  The reason for this law is safety.  You don’t want the pool to be easily accessible to small children or pets.
