Charlotte Home Inspector Reveals Bad Drainage Issue

June 26th, 2012 · No Comments

While inspecting a home near Lake Wylie off Hwy 49 Charlotte home inspector Preston Sandlin of Home Inspection Carolina dicovered a bad drainage issue.  Both air conditioners were depositing their condensation lines adjacent to the left wall and foundation of the house.  On a hot summer day these two lines can deposit 25-30 gallons of water from condensation.  On this house this water is running right out adjacent to this wall and foundation.  Eventually this can collapse the air pockets in the soil causing the footer to drop and cause cracking.  The trick is to get the water away from the foundation.  This can be done either by adding a splashblock or an extension to carry the water away.  This problem needs to be fixed to prevent future cracking.

Home Inspection Carolina has been providing quality home inspections  in the Charlotte NC for years and now has added thermal infrared scanning to there list of services.  They provide home inspections and termite inspections in Charlotte NC, Monroe NC, Gastonia NC, Weddington NC, Lake Norman NC, Concord NC, Fort Mill SC and Rock Hill SC.  They also provide a free 90 day warranty and free recall check.  Home Inspection Carolina has 10 home inspectors and serves a 50 mile radius of Charlotte.  They have over a 100 years of combined home inspection.  Let them put their experience and skills to work for you.
